Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to maheshcomputer.com and to educational, digital and other services operated under the Mahesh Computer brand where this policy is linked or referenced. This currently includes student practice and mock-test services and may in future include paid courses, subscription products, software-as-a-service (SaaS), website development, software development, consulting and related technology services.

Mahesh Computer Typing & Shorthand Institute is based at Khadkeshwar Road, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar – 431001, Maharashtra, India.

02

Information we may collect

Depending on the service you use, we may collect information such as your name, email address, mobile number, course or student details, account information, login and security data, enquiries, support messages, attendance or learning progress, typing-practice activity, mock-test attempts, marks, WPM, accuracy, practice time, error analysis and other performance information.

We may also receive technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, access logs and security events. If you use future professional or SaaS services, we may process files, project information, organisation details or other content that you or your organisation choose to provide.

03

How we use information

We use personal information for purposes reasonably connected with providing and operating our services. These purposes may include creating and maintaining accounts; delivering courses, lessons, practice and mock tests; calculating results and progress; providing support; managing admissions and institute administration; processing transactions; issuing receipts or invoices; communicating service, course, examination or security information; preventing misuse and fraud; maintaining system security; improving our website and software; and complying with applicable legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.

Where consent is the appropriate basis for a particular use, we aim to request it in a clear manner and use the information for the stated purpose.

04

Learning, practice and examination data

Our student platforms may record learning and test activity so that students and authorised institute staff can review progress. This may include completed lessons, passages, typing speed, accuracy, marks, mistakes, practice duration, mock-exam history and related analysis.

We may use this information to provide progress tracking, result analysis, student guidance, academic administration, test integrity and improvement of our training systems.

05

Payments and paid services

If we introduce online paid courses, subscriptions, SaaS products or professional services, payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Payment providers may collect payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Mahesh Computer does not intend to store full payment-card numbers or CVV details on its own systems. We may retain transaction references, payment status, invoice information and other records reasonably required for accounts, support, refunds, taxation or legal compliance.

06

Communications

We may contact you about your account, course, batch, examination, transaction, security, support request or service you are using. These operational communications may be necessary to provide the service.

Where we send promotional information about new courses, products or services, we will use contact information in accordance with applicable law and available preferences. You may ask us to stop non-essential promotional communications.

07

Cookies, sessions and analytics

Our website and student portals use essential technologies such as session cookies to keep users signed in and to operate authenticated features securely. These are necessary for core platform functionality.

We may introduce analytics, performance or similar technologies in the future to understand how our services are used and to improve them. If our use of non-essential tracking changes materially, this policy and any required notices or controls will be updated.

08

When we may share information

We do not sell personal information.

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate our website, hosting, databases, communications, payments, analytics, customer support, security or other business systems. Such access should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process or a lawful government request; to protect users, our systems or our legal rights; to professional advisers where appropriate; or in connection with a legitimate business restructuring, transfer or acquisition, subject to applicable law.

09

How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for legitimate academic, account, security, accounting, legal, dispute-resolution and record-keeping needs.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods. A request to delete an account or information may not require deletion of records that we must or reasonably need to retain for legal, financial, security or dispute-related purposes.

10

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, loss or disclosure. These measures may include authenticated access, access controls, secure hosting and database services, monitoring and backups.

No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should keep account credentials confidential and inform us if they believe an account has been accessed without permission.

11

Students who are minors

Some educational services may be used by students under 18. Where applicable, we will handle children's personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law and any requirements that are in force at the relevant time, including parent or guardian involvement or consent where legally required.

Parents or guardians may contact us if they have a question about information relating to a minor student.

12

Your choices and privacy rights

Subject to applicable law and the nature of the service, you may contact us to request access to information associated with you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where applicable, withdrawal of consent where processing depends on consent, or assistance with a privacy concern or grievance.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some requests may be limited where retention or processing is required or permitted by law or necessary for legitimate security, accounting, academic or dispute-related purposes.

13

Third-party websites and platforms

Our website may link to services such as Google Maps, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, payment providers or other external websites. When you use an external service, that provider's terms and privacy practices apply to its handling of your information.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that we do not control.

14

Future digital, SaaS and professional services

This policy is intended to support the expansion of Mahesh Computer beyond its current educational services. If we launch paid digital courses, subscriptions, SaaS products, website or software development services, consulting, institutional products or other technology services, this policy may apply where those services link to it.

For some business or institutional services, Mahesh Computer may process information on behalf of a customer organisation. Where appropriate, separate service terms, data-processing terms or a product-specific privacy notice may apply.

15

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, legal requirements or data practices change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated effective or revision date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, account interface or other appropriate channel.
